Anton has held many leadership positions at Dilworth; he loves to help others and learn from them by seeing their perspective. Anton is well-rounded in sporting, cultural, community, and academic life.

Demetrius Shortland

Demetrius is passionate about discovering the power of architecture and how influential it can be on human behaviour which is a reason he chose to study design and visual communication.  He would like to increase his understanding of how architecture can influence more positive outcomes in people’s lives.

Demetrius has enjoyed and been involved in many activities throughout his school life.  He plays the Flute and has been part of singing groups, drama productions, spatial design projects, Badminton, and KBB concert festivals and competitions.

He has self-discipline and is motivated to do the right things without being asked.  enjoyed his time in service programs and the Samoan cultural group.

Kiah is studying Biomedical Sciences in the hopes of furthering his education in the field of medicine.  He is passionate about medicine for a variety of reasons, including helping those who have suffered unfortunate injuries like him and tending to the scarcity of Māori doctors we face in New Zealand.

Kiah enjoys playing and listening to music (piano and guitar), participating in sporting activities, learning languages (Māori and Japanese) and outdoor activities. Additionally, he is interested in learning more about Māori culture and traditions. He aims to be fluent in Māori by the time the has finished his degree and continue to develop his skills in Japanese.

Jaydan is studying a conjoint degree in Law and Music . He has interests in the workings of the justice system (particularly with respect to the upholding of rights and societal values).

Jaydan is a keen pianist who is passionate about music. He also composes, loves reading, swimming and writing. He enjoys chess, watching movies and spending quality family time at the beach. Jaydan is open to trying new things and would like to dabble in photography as a hobby.

He volunteers at St Margaret's Anglican church school holiday program as a youth supervisor. He also worked at St John's Theological College where he carried out various administrative duties and worked in their community garden, as well as cleaning shelves in their library/archives.

Jaydan is hard-working, inquisitive, and disciplined in setting and attaining his goals. As the first in his family to attend university, Jaydan is absolutely determined to make the most of the opportunity and make his family proud.

Leo will be studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Hons).  He is specialising in Structural Engineering. Leo has always been fascinated by the way things work – from the structural design of a building to the intricacies of an automobile’s engine.

As well as being strongly academic, Leo loves music and singing, having taken part in The Big Sing Finale, and gaining silver with his Dilworth brothers.  Movies and movie-production are other interests of Leo’s, and he has considered perhaps being involved in this wort of creative work in future.

Leo has a great work-ethic, is disciplined and social.  He is looking forward to university, embracing the challenges and making the most of new friendship opportunities and academic successes.

He is working within the SEF programme, as a Buddy for Aporo Haurua, who is also studying BE (Hons)/BMus at the University of Auckland.

Oscar plans to undertake a Bachelor of science majoring in Psychology and Biology. His keen interest in biology stems from a fascination with the natural world and how organisms interact within it. He is also interested in helping individuals with their mental health by becoming a psychologist. 

Oscar loves the outdoors and being active in sports.  He has a keen interest in rock climbing and wrestling.  Oscar is involved in performing arts.  He has taken an active role in music and drama productions at Dilworth School, and he plays the flute and guitar.

Rhythm is studying for a Bachelor of Architecture and Future Environments at AUT.  It has been his dream to become an architect since he was young.  Rhythm became intrigued and amazed by the way people design buildings that are beyond our current times.  He wants to be a part of improving the future of design while also designing for the betterment of the next generations.

Rhythm is an all-rounder who partakes in leadership, sporting, academic and visual art pursuits. He has an interest in Pacific Island art and drawing and this has allowed him to have a deeper sense of connection to his cultural heritage.

He is an eager learner who challenges himself to aim for personal excellence. Rhythm is someone who believes in delayed satisfaction by doing his best and doing the hard work now so that in the future, he will know and see the fruits of his efforts paying off.   Rhythm is a determined young man with a nonpareil eagerness to be the better than the man he was yesterday.
